AED/CPR Program

The Albemarle County Sheriff’s Office offers CPR/AED and basic First Aid training for citizens. Certifications are through the American Heart Association, and are generally good for two years. Basic skills will help trained individuals respond to medical emergencies while awaiting Rescue Squad and hospital care. Most classes are taught in the evenings at Albemarle High School. Students have included Law Enforcement Officers, School Crossing Guards, Teachers, and the general public. For more information, please contact our Program Coordinator, Deputy Andre Berkin, through the “Contact Us” section of this website. You can also sign up through Albemarle County Public Schools’ Open Doors Community Education Office: http://www.opendoors1.org/albemarle/ , or call Cat Stanley at AHS, 434-975-9450.
