My wife Linda and I have lived in our home on Pantops Mountain in the Ashcroft Subdivision since 1983. We are both Fluvanna County natives and have been married since 1979 - gets better each year.

I grew up just outside of the town of Fork Union. I spent most of my free time in the woods or on the James River except during the school year when I was playing football, basketball and baseball for the "Flying Flucos". I graduated from V.C.U. in 1973 with a degree in Social Welfare. I was a pitcher for the "Rams" Baseball Team.

Our children Brie and Brent attended Albemarle Public Schools and graduated from Monticello High School. Both of them are now out of the house. I miss going to watch Brie's Basketball games and Brent's Football Games but the house is much quieter except during college breaks! Brent is a rising senior at Radford University majoring in business. Brie graduated May 2009 with "honors" in business marketing. In 2008, she was a cast member of cycle 11 America's Next Top Model. She is currently residing out of state pursuing her modeling career.

The family supported my run for Sheriff and has helped me with events. This includes my mom "Troxie" Harding who lives in Lake Monticello and has the distinction of being the first Harding elected to public office. She was Chairwoman of the School Board for a number of years.
