Duress Alarms:

 Duress alarms in Circuit, General District, Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court were tested in February 2025. All duress alarms were found to be working properly. The new General District Building opened June 18th, 2025, and all duress alarms are monitored through an outside service. 

 Total Number of Judges from our Courts in 2025:

  • Circuit Court: 214

  •  Adult Inmates from local facility- ACRJ: 898

  • Adult Inmates from other jails/ non-local: 125

  • Juvenile Inmates local - Blue Ridge Detention Center: 63

  • Juvenile Inmates non-local: 3

  • Juvenile Other: 2

  • Mental Health (TDO): N/A

  • Extraditions: 9

  • New Book In’s:  127

  • B&B: 92

During 2025, The Albemarle County Sheriff's Office

  •  Served 48 warrants

  •  Served 38,071 civil papers

  •  Processed 1482-gun permits

  •  Received 3 complaints about deputies

  •  Use Of Force - 0

  •  Responded to 5 Search and Rescue calls for service

  •  Responded to 3 Project Lifesaver calls for service

  •  Participated in 24 Community events

  •  Issued 8 Virginia Uniform Summons and made 15 vehicle stops. Out of the 15 stops there were 7 warnings given.
